Bioinformatician, Cambridge, United Kingdom

Postdoctoral Research Associate / Annotator / Curator / Bioinformatician / Programmer – Parasite Genomics and Bioinformatics
TriTrypDB and GeneDB are principal database resources that serve the needs of the kinetoplastid research community by integrating an increasing number of high dimensional, complex datasets and by making them accessible for efficient interrogation. We are seeking three enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to join this project, one based at each of three key sites:
(1) An annotator/curator at the University of Liverpool whose primary responsibility will be to keep the annotation of kinetoplastid genomes up to date and relevant;
(2) A senior bioinformatician/programmer at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute near Cambridge who will develop and implement a bioinformatic pipeline and tools to help automate the annotation process as well as integrate new data types into annotation and the database resources;
(3) A programmer/analyst at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Molecular Parasitology at the University of Glasgow who will be tasked with ensuring that new and increasingly large-scale datasets from the research community are included in TriTrypDB.
