The IMDEA Food Foundation is recruiting researchers of the highest international profile with emphasis on young investigators who want to advance their research career at IMDEA Food.
Within this context, the IMDEA Food Foundation launches this Call for the recruitment of postdoctoral scientists according to the specifications listed below:
Position Descriptions.
Several positions in the IMDEA Food Research Programs are offered with the specific requirements according to Annex 1.
•       Ref. PD2012/002 - Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomedical Nutrition

Job Category    Biomedical research/biochemistry/

nutrition.
Job Description Responsible for carrying out basic and applied, i.e. animals and humans research in the area of micronutrients and cardiovascular health.
May serve as lab coordinator in one or more projects.
Participates in the development of study protocols including participation in study design discussions.
Develops research plans including grant proposal preparations and study protocols.
Performs laboratory analyses, interprets statistical results, and prepares reports including integrated summaries for reports, manuscript and proposal submissions.
Qualifications  Demonstrate independence, pro-active attitude, professional and excellent communication skills both written and speaking.
Has experience in molecular biology (cell culture and related techniques) and in animal and human trials.
Ability to work independently on routine assignments, under supervision on new assignments.
Ability to identify and resolve areas of concerns. Work with others as necessary.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload.
Authorship in peer-reviewed publications.
Fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish a plus but not mandatory.
Education       PhD. in Biomedical Sciences such as (but not limited to) Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Biotechnology.

Evaluation and selection of candidates.
Successful candidates will be selected by a review panel based on the profiles described in Annex 1 as appropriately outlined in their CVs and project. When necessary, personal interviews will be scheduled with  pre-selected candidates.
