The Institute of Molecular Tumor Biology at the University of Münster invites applications for
a Ph.D. STUDENT POSITION
in the department of Molecular Stem Cell Biology, director Professor Frank Rosenbauer, PhD.
Applicants are invited to join our newly established research team at
the Institute of Molecular Tumor Biology, University of Münster,
Germany. Our group has a long-term interest in elucidating molecular
mechanisms that control hematopoietic stem cell function and leukemia
development by investigating transcription factors and epigenetic
pathways (Rosenbauer et al. 2004 Nature Genetics 36:624-30; Rosenbauer
et al. 2006, Nature Genetics, 38: 27-37, Bröske et al. 2009 Nature
Genetics 41: 1207-1215; Leddin et al. 2011, Blood, 117:2827-2838; Ghani
et al. 2011; Blood 118:2275-2284). We offer a highly interactive and
stimulating environment as well as state of the art laboratory and flow
cytometry facilities.
We are currently looking for a talented and highly motivated PhD student
for a project on the role of epigenetic and transcriptional control of
leukemia stem cells. We expect documented experience in molecular and
cellular biology. Hands-on experience in working with laboratory mice is
an advantage. Moreover, as this project will include the analysis of
genome-wide transcription factor binding and/or DNA methylation data (in
cooperation with professional bioinformaticians), the candidate should
have advanced computer skills. A good command of the English language is
required.
The position is initially for two years, but can be extended. It is
funded according to the German TV-L-system (group E13, part time,
depending on qualifications). Applications should include a full CV, and
the names of two referees.
The position will be open until filled. Applications should be sent by e-mail or regular mail to
