The Friendly Hand Charitable Foundation will fund at RHUL a PhD scholarship for three years, starting September 2011, for research relating to any aspect of the history of the Christian religion in modern Europe (post-1800). The scholarship will cover the cost of academic fees at Home/EU level; and also provides a stipend of £15,000 p.a. All applications and supporting documents must reach the RHUL Admissions Office no later than Thursday 28 April. For further information and application procedures see:

Applications should be accompanied by a brief research statement not exceeding 500 words in length. This should also be e-mailed separately to the History Postgraduate Administrator, Marie-Christine Ockenden, by the same deadline (m.ockenden@rhul.ac.uk). Successful candidates will be informed by the end of May.
