Post-doctoral fellowship opportunity
Genetics and Evolution ProgramNorthwest Fisheries Science Center
Seattle, Washington
We are in the process of conducting long-term studies that use parentage
analysis to evaluate how factors such as wild/captive origin, size, age,
spawning location, and morphology contribute to variation in individual
reproductive success in Pacific salmon and steelhead populations. We are
seeking a post-doctoral researcher to add a genomic and quantitative
genetic component to these studies. We are particularly interested in
evaluating the genetic basis and the genetic architecture of individual
and group level variation in reproductive success and related traits and
characterizing the form and intensity of natural selection on these
traits. We are seeking an outstanding PhD level candidate with a proven
track record in innovative collection and/or analysis of genomic data to
address ecological or micro-evolutionary questions.
The fellowship is funded and administered through the National Research
Council’s Research Associateship Program. See
