The Breast Cancer and Systems Biology Group of the Catalan Institute of
Oncology (IDIBELL, Barcelona) offers a PhD position on a fundamental
translational research area: the molecular mechanisms of cancer
metastasis and acquired resistance to mTOR inhibition.
The candidate should be (i) highly motivated for biomedical research, (ii) have an excellent BSc record, (iii) strong sense of teamwork, and preferably (iv) previous experimental experience in cancer biology.

Over the past decades a tremendous progress has been achieved in understanding the genetic basis of carcinogenesis. Despite this success, fundamental biological questions remain unsolved. In addition to study cancer genes or proteins individually, it is also important to understand how cancer genes and proteins function together, and how they mediate cancer progression and response to therapies.
