POSTDOCTORAL POSITION: 7FP IEF - Gaucher Disease

The “Gaucher Disease and other Lysosomal Disorders” Research Group at Aragon Institute of Health Sciences (I+CS), Spain, is seeking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to apply for a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships (IEF).

The main research will focus in the study of biological mechanisms involved in the activation of the immune system in order to explain some of the biological aberrations linked to Lysosomal disorders:
1. To analyze the function of macrophages focused in patients with Gaucher disease. To study the capacity of antigen presentation to CD4 and CD8 T, the pattern of activation of B lymphocytes, the role of T cell, study of NK cells and to correlate the expression patterns with clinical expression and clinical complications often associated with Gaucher disease: hyperferritinemia, gammopathy, inflammatory arthritis, underactive gland, neoplasms.
2. To analyze the implications of immune system in the main manifestations of Fabry disease.

The postdoctoral researcher must have at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience and not have lived/worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years. Some experience in Lysosomal disorders, molecular analysis and immune function studies is requiered.

Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships (IEF) offer a 2-year contract. The call deadline is 16th August 2012.
