PHD Thesis in "Reparative therapy of the heart"

The group "Reparative therapy of heart",  has two main lines of research. The first one focuses on the  characterization of human susceptibility to myocardial ischemia/reoxigenation damage and its protective response against different therapies.
The second line is based on the use of stem cell therapy and growth factors on an engineered heart tissue model, with the goal of understanding the signaling pathways that promote cardiac repair.

WE ARE SEEKING TWO HIGHLY TALENTED AND MOTIVATED PHD
CANDIDATES TO APPLY A FPU GRANT IN ANY OF THE FIELDS PREVIOUSLY DESCRIBED.

The candidate will join an interdisciplinary research team and will be working in an enthusiastic and motivated research environment. The group has well settled collaborations with other national and international research groups which offer the possibility to interact and collaborate with scientists from other disciplines and other countries.

Requirements:
Candidates should have completed their degree in Biology, Biomedicine or Biochemistry. They should be studying a Master during this course or have already completed it before. We will not consider CVs from candidates with an averaged mark (Bachelor and/or master) less than 2 in a scale from 0-4.
