The IMDEA Food Foundation is recruiting researchers of the highest international profile with emphasis on young investigators who want to advance their research career at IMDEA Food.
Within this context, the IMDEA Food Foundation launches this Call for the recruitment of postdoctoral scientists according to the specifications listed below:
Position Descriptions.
Several positions in the IMDEA Food Research Programs are offered with the specific requirements according to Annex 1.
•       Ref. PD2012/003 - Postdoctoral Researcher in Nutritional Genetics and Molecular Nutrition
Job Category    Molecular Biology/Biomedical Research/Genetics/Molecular Nutrition.
Job Description Postdoctoral Research for the area of “Diet, microRNAs and lipid metabolism”.
The candidate will work evaluating the effects of dietary components on the expression of microRNAs and other noncoding RNAs. We will search and characterize miRNAs and other noncoding RNAs that regulate lipid metabolism in health and disease related to Cardiovascular disease.
Qualifications  Demonstrated experience in Cell Biology and Molecular Biology techniques, including cloning, cell culture, Western blotting, Northern blotting, microscopy, flow cytometry and gene expression analysis.
Experience in working with laboratory animals (mice), including feeding, isolation of primary cells and organs, minor surgery, etc.
Experience in research with noncoding RNAs and/or lipid metabolism will be highly acknowledged.
Experience with human dietary supplementation studies and biostatistical analysis is preferred.
Authorship  in peer-reviewed publications is required.
High English language level is required.
Ability to work independently on routine assignments, positive attitude, good communication skills is desired.
Education       MS and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Sciences is required.

Evaluation and selection of candidates.
Successful candidates will be selected by a review panel based on the profiles described in Annex 1 as appropriately outlined in their CVs and project. When necessary, personal interviews will be scheduled with  pre-selected candidates.
