PhD Position - The role of mitochondrial genome in the pathogenesis of autoimmune blistering diseases (Lübeck)

A 3-year PhD student position in the field of autoimmune skin blistering disease research is immediately available at Genetics group in the Department of Dermatology, University of Luebeck, Germany.
The project is focused on dissecting the role of mitochondrial genome role in the autoimmunity. For this purpose, we investigate a mouse model of autoimmune blistering skin disease in unique set of mitochondrial DNA mutant mouse strains. In addition to in vivo experiments, characterization and functional analysis of immune cells and mitochondria will be carried out.
As a candidate for this position, you will
•       Have a Master degree in the relevant field of life sciences
      (immunology, biology, genetics, biochemistry etc)
•       Preferably have laboratory experience
•       Be able to handle experimental animals (mouse)
•       Have a good written and spoken English
•       Have a strong passion for science
