A postgraduate/postdoctoral position is available immediately to
join a basic science/translational research laboratory in the Department of Medicine in the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, United States of America. The laboratory is well established and headed by Dr. Sunil K.
Ahuja, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology. We use a multi-disciplinary approach including immunological, genetic, epigenetic, bioinformatic, and genomic studies to understand host
resistance to infectious/non-infectious diseases and mechanisms that lead to altered immune status. The laboratory is equipped
with state-of-the art facilities for genome wide association studies and Next Generation Sequencing (ChIP-Seq and RNA-Seq).
Highly motivated candidates with a Master's or a doctoral degree with a strong research background in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and genetics/genomics are particularly
encouraged to apply. Experience in bioinformatics/computational biology is highly desirable. Strong analytical and communication
skills with a publication record would be favorably considered.
Interested candidates should send their CV, a letter of interest outlining experience and research goals, and the names of 3 references to ahujas@uthscsa.edu.
