                                                                    Enzymology/Flavinology

AnNSFfundedpositionisavailableinthelaboratory of Dr.GiovanniGadda tocarryoutmechanistic,structuralandbiochemicalinvestigationsoncholine oxidase. The enzyme serves as a model for the lavinmediated, enzyme catalyzedoxidationof alcohols.Possibilities to expandtheresearchinterests
to    other  lavindependent  enzymes,  such as    nitronate  monooxygenase, glycolateoxidase,Dargininedehydrogenaseandothersarealsoavailable.

Anenthusiastic, knowledgeable andskillful postdoctoral fellow is invited to jointheGadda’sresearchgroup,whichis basedinthe heartofAtlanta,USA.
Background in protein puriication, enzyme kinetics, molecular biology and lavinbiochemistry are preferred, butnotrequired.
