Description of the subject area: Applications
are encouraged for a 4-year PhD-student position focusing on the
effects of changing snow- and ice cover conditions in the arctic
and boreal region on carbon dioxide emissions from freshwaters.
The PhD-project is part of the Centre of Excellence
”Cryosphere-atmosphere interactions in a changing arctic climate
(CRAICC; http://www.atm.helsinki.fi/ craicc/), financed by NordForsk. Cooperation with
Helsinki University and the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE)
is part of the project which includes field work for the
gathering of own data as well as analyses of already existing
large datasets.
We
can offer a very international dynamic research group. More
